Pilot
Students have the option of choosing between two specializations, i.e. between the specialization Airplane piloting aimed at acquiring knowledge for the performance of the function of a professional pilot for air transport operators, or for the performance of other types of aviation work, and the specialization Air traffic management, which is aimed at educating university-educated air traffic management personnel for air traffic management positions in the Slovak Republic, for which a given level of education is required.
Aircraft Piloting
The study is aimed at acquiring knowledge for the performance of the function of a professional pilot for airline operators transport, or for the performance of other types of aviation work. A condition of study is completion of practical flight training at a training organization (ATO).
The knowledge achieved during the course corresponds to the level required to obtain the qualification required for the performance of the role of co-pilot on aircraft (ATPL) in commercial air transport and the qualification of commercial pilot (CPL) with an instrument clause (IR). The minimum required level of training achieved during the course of study is the completion of flight exercises to the level of a PPL(A) private pilot. After completing the relevant theoretical training, the student must take a theoretical test at the Transport Office of the Slovak Republic in accordance with Part-FCL. The theoretical preparation of the graduates of this study program is in accordance with the corpus of knowledge of the field of study Transport.
Qualification readiness and degree of professional adaptability to the conditions and requirements of practice:
The graduate is prepared for the theoretical exams for professional pilot proficiency in accordance with European aviation regulations. After passing specific type tests, the graduate can apply for the position of professional pilot in any country of the European Union.
Characteristics of professions and institutions where the graduate can apply the acquired education:
The graduate of the study is ready to perform the activity of a professional pilot for domestic air transport operators, or for the performance of substantial types of aviation work, for which the competence of a professional pilot of the corresponding qualification is required. The graduate of the study has the required theoretical knowledge and practical experience to perform the function of a military pilot in the Air Force of the Slovak Armed Forces
