History of the department
The Department of Aeronautical Engineering (KLI) was established on September 1, 2004 as one of the scientific and pedagogical departments of the Institute of Aeronautics during the merger of the General M.R. Štefánik Military Aviation Academy with the Technical University in Košice. After the end of the transformation process on February 1, 2005, KLI became part of the Faculty of Aeronautics as one of the supporting departments. Despite several reorganizational changes during its 45-year history, KLI has maintained throughout its existence the main mission of training civil and military aviation specialists, pilots and other aviation personnel in the field of aviation engineering.
