History of the department of Aviation Technical Training
During its 45-year history, the department has become a recognized and sought-after partner of many research workplaces, institutions, manufacturing enterprises and companies. It achieved this prestigious position mainly thanks to its excellent results in the scientific and pedagogical fields.
The history of the department began on September 1, 1979, when the Department of Electrical Engineering and Electronics was founded at the SNP Military Aviation Academy in Košice. It existed under this name for more than 20 years and became one of the school's most successful scientific and pedagogical workplaces.
After the demise of the Military Aviation Academy on 1 September, 2004, the current name of the Department of Aviation Technical Training began to be used. Graduates of the department are successful entrepreneurs, designers, constructors, excellent technicians, programmers, teachers, but also scientific and research workers in electrical engineering fields, especially in the aviation industry. They found their employment in many Slovak and foreign companies.
