Projects financed from structural funds:

  • Project title: Research on intelligent management logistics system with a focus on monitoring the hygienic safety of the logistics chain
    Recipient: Technical University in Košice
    Headquarters: Letná 1/9, 042 00 Košice
    Partner: TLM Trans, s.r.o.
Place of project implementation: Košice I - city district Sever, Košice I - city district Staré mesto, Sabinov
    Amount of NFP: EUR 1,113,522.06
    Solution period: 2022 - 2023
    Project manager: Ing. Ivan Knap

The main goal of the project is to support and stabilize a high-quality research team of the consortium in the domain of Transport means for the 21st century. The aim of the research is to ensure the exact traceability of goods and the change in the requirements for the handling of goods with regard to the epidemiological situation in the regions by ensuring an appropriate response to the current situation using digital simulation and then to validate these results in the laboratory in the relevant environment (TRL 5), which will allow the project to work on R&D activities also in the territory of eastern Slovakia with real measured data at the partner. Project activities will be implemented through the use of progressive digital simulations of logistics processes throughout the life cycle of the supply-customer chain, which are based on the principles of the Industry 4.0 strategy. The outputs of the presented project will be an intelligent management system of logistics processes integrating the outputs of several databases and information systems reflecting the current epidemic situation, relevant measures and requirements for transported goods. Other outputs will be methodologies for assessment, risk assessment, proposals for measures tested in the partner's real environment, or consolidated documents intended as a starting framework for new certification schemes.

The project is co-financed by the European Union.

  • Project title: Mobile monitoring system for the protection of isolated and at-risk population groups from the spread of viral diseases
    ITMS project code: 313011AUP1
    Recipient: Technical University in Košice
    Headquarters: Letná 1/9, 042 00 Košice-Sever
    Partner: Lešť training center
    Provider: Research Agency
Place of implementation of the project: Košice region, Košice - Old Town district; Banskobystrický kraj, Pliešovce, Košice kraj, Košice - city district North
    Amount of NFP: EUR 3,596,297.03
    Solution period: 2021 – 2023
Project manager: doc. Ing. Monika Blišťanová, PhD.
    Website of the project: movir.lf.tuke.sk

The goal of the project is to create and test a mobile monitoring system designed to protect isolated groups of the population from the spread of viral diseases or, conversely, to protect the population from an isolated group identified as a source of risk, including the design, development and verification of behavior models of individuals and entities. The system will be built from mobile sensor elements, a mobile monitoring station and a cloud data system. Mobile sensory elements will be installed in the form of separate free-standing devices, which will be distributed in space to create a sensory network. The system will be mobile and independent of ground infrastructure. In addition to the design of the integrated system, the project also aims to test it in the field, taking into account potentially influencing factors such as weather conditions, dustiness, vibrations, or the presence of animals. The goal is to create a mobile monitoring sensor system to protect isolated and at-risk population groups from the spread of viral diseases, which will not be dependent on local electricity distribution, and which will not visually change the character of the defined space, and therefore will not cause additional psychological burden for any of the protected parties.

The project is co-financed by the European Union.
