Academic Senate

The Academic Senate is a body of the academic self-government of the Faculty Aeronautics, whose status and powers are regulated by §26 and §27 of Act no. 131/2002 Coll. on universities and on amendments to certain laws as amended and §8, §10 to §12 of the Statute, internal regulations of the Faculty of Aeronautics the Technical University in Košice.

Academic Senate of the Faculty of Aeronautics:

  • Approves the internal regulations of the LF as well as other internal regulations of the LF upon the dean’s proposal;
  • Approves the internal regulations of the LF on the proposal of the chairman of the Academic Senate of the LF;
  • Comments on the dean’s proposal for internal regulations of the Faculty of Aeronautics before their submission to the Scientific Council of the Faculty of Aeronautics;
  • Before approval in the Scientific Council of the LF discusses the proposal of study programs to be implemented by the LF, submitted by the dean;
  • Elects a candidate for dean, or proposes the dean’s dismissal from office and approves the TUKE rector’s proposal to dismiss the dean;
  • If the LF does not have a dean, it proposes to the rector of TUKE a person who is to be entrusted with the performance of the dean’s function until a new dean is appointed, but for a maximum period of 6 (six) months;
  • Approves the dean’s proposal for the appointment and dismissal of LF vice-deans;
  • Approves the dean’s proposal for the appointment and dismissal of members of the Scientific Council of the LF;
  • Approves the draft budget of the LF presented by the dean and controls the handling of f financial means of the LF;
  • Approves the LF Development Plan drawn up in accordance with the TUKE Long-term Plan, presented by the dean after discussion in the LF Scientific Council and its update;
  • Approves the Annual Activity Report and the Annual Financial Management Report submitted by the Dean;
  • Approves other admission conditions for studying study programs conducted by the Faculty of Aeronautics, presented by the dean;
  • Comments on the dean’s proposal for the establishment, merger, merger, division or abolition of Faculty of Aeronautics workplaces;
  • Elects LF representatives to the Council of Universities;
  • Once a year, he submits a report on his activities to the LF academic community, which he publishes on the LF website for at least 4 (four) years;
  • Comments on the proposals of the rector of TUKE for actions related to the transfer of property or the establishment of an easement, or the right of pre-emption on property, which is used to fulfill the tasks of the LF before they are submitted for approval to the Academic Senate of TUKE;
  • Performs other tasks determined by TUKE or LF internal regulations.

 

The Senate consists of elected representatives of the academic community of the Faculty of Aeronautics (§ 10 of the Statute of the Faculty of Aeronautics). The Senate has 12 members and consists of an employee part and a student part. The staff part has eight members. The student section has four members. Members of the staff part of the senate are elected in direct secret elections by members of the staff part of the academic community of the Faculty of Aeronautics. Members of the student part of the senate are elected in direct secret elections by members of the student part of the academic community of the Faculty of Aeronautics. A member of the staff part of the senate can only be a member of the staff part of the academic community of the Faculty of Aeronautics. A member of the student part of the senate can only be a member of the student part of the academic community of the Faculty of Aeronautics. The term of office of the senate lasts four years.
