The application for study can be submitted electronically via the MAIS TUKE information system (e-application), in paper form by post, or in person at the Study Department of the LF. An applicant for engineering studies at TUKE can apply for only one study program on one application.
Conditions of admission to 2nd degree studies - engineering studies at the Faculty of Aeronautics TU in Košice in the academic year 2024/2025
General conditions for admission to study:
- successful completion of a 1st-level university study in a study program that is accredited in the same field of study in which the 2nd-level study program to which the applicant is applying is accredited,
- or successful completion of another study program (or department according to the previous regulations), the content and structure of the completed subjects, however, guarantee eligibility to continue studying the chosen 2nd degree study program. In such a case, the admission committee decides on admission based on the proposal of the guarantor of the study program.
Conditions for admission of foreign students to engineering study programs conducted in the Slovak language:
In addition to meeting the above-mentioned general admission conditions, foreign students applying to study in the Slovak language must also demonstrate basic knowledge of the Slovak language for understanding, speaking and writing at least as a user of the basics of the language at level A2 according to the common European framework for CEF languages:
- understands sentences and frequently used phrases related to everyday life,
- can describe his education, his immediate surroundings in a simple way, can respond to questions and move in the level of basic tenses in the Slovak language,
- the vocabulary is in the range of 1600 words.
Knowledge of the Slovak language is verified as part of the entrance exam in the form of a written test and an oral test, to which foreign students will be invited. The aforementioned verification of knowledge of the Slovak language does not apply to foreign students who have completed their 1st degree university studies in the Slovak language or in the Czech language.
As part of the admission procedure, foreign students must also submit a document on the recognition of the equivalence of documents on the 1st degree university education.
Conditions for admission of students to engineering study programs conducted in the English language.
In addition to meeting the above-mentioned general conditions for admission to study and specific conditions for admission to study, students applying for studies in the English language must also demonstrate basic knowledge of the English language for understanding, speaking and writing at least as a user of the basics of the language at level A2 according to the common European framework for CEF languages:
- understands sentences and frequently used phrases related to everyday life,
- can describe his education, his immediate surroundings in a simple way, can respond to questions and move in the level of basic tenses in the Slovak language,

Method of selecting applicants for study
There is no entrance exam. The criterion for the selection of applicants for study is the achieved study results in the study of the study program of the 1st degree. The order of applicants for admission to study is determined based on their position in the waiting list. This is compiled according to the weighted average for the results achieved in the 1st stage of university studies according to Decree of the Ministry of Education SR 614/2002 on the study credit system. Applicants with a higher weighted average will be given preference for admission.
